Marched with the "Art for Charity Month" Art truck in the Hagerstown Mummers Parade last night.10/29/2017 Last night at the Mummers Parade was an amazing experience thanks to Oisk Trucking, artist Anthony Jones, my 4 sons and of course all the volunteers who manage the parade. Thank you. It was a joy seeing and hearing children and adults of all ages responding to our filling the atmosphere with bubbles.

I Discovered something interesting and I think it very much pertains to the paintings i own of World War 1 by artist Scott Hook who is a relative of the controversial Civil War General Joseph Hooker. I also happen to own two other interesting historical art pieces tied to WW1. One is a small mural i believe to be from 1933 era and the New Deal Arts Funding during the Great Depression. The other is an amazing photo looking down on hundreds of soldiers, and their hats making a huge logo at Camp Meade. I have talked to the people at Camp Meade and they said this is the largest photo of that photographic ollaboration. When doing research about the men who served officially as Secretary of War for the U.S. I discovered that the secretary of war during WWI was from Martinsburg and also served as Mayor prior to this position in Cleveland Ohio (where my wife is from). This interesting discovery is on top of the fact that in 2010/2011 I helped in a small way with the care of Frank Buckles (last American WW1 Veteran) in his last days who lived not to far from my home in Martinsburg, West Virginia. For years I have been contemplating and planning a cross country trip with a mobile art museum and a whole lot more. I have played around with designs for my museum and how it would be created out of a few 53' trailers (18 wheelers) or shipping containers. I am happy to say that the technology is there to create what I am dreaming of and today started talking with a company in Europe that has started taking their ideas of buildings that assemble themselves or transform from a trailer shaped structure to actually building them. I am so freaking excited about the possibilities!!! Check them out! Ten Fold EngineeringFinished the Truck's trailer and now it is on the road promoting "Art for Charity Month"! The collaboration with artist Anthony Jones was a huge success.
Today i received my first "Form Entry" on this site thanks to the ad i have on the 18 wheeler. Even though it only had the suggestion to add titles to my art. I still am thankful and have started that. Thanks mystery person!
Let me 1st state that i am not one who likes to complain about things at least i try not to, however i am disscovering my inner voice and am feeling a need to express my thoughts about the the lack of creativity in my town and maybe beyond. I remember going to parades as a child with my parents in Bridgewater Virginia. Bridgewater is pretty small town but for some reason there seemed to be more creativity displayed in that county parade than any i have seen as a parent and a citizen of Martinsburg Wv. Today was probably the 3rd or 4th Apple Harvest parade that i have taken my kids to and have been disappointed by. Besides the dance troups and bands the most creative entry this year was at the very end which i forced myself to stay for, just hoping for one creative and beautiful float or something, anything, that would be interesting to look at. The "caboose" for this lame train was a fishing boat advertising one public servant's task of fighting crime. I have a series of photos highlighting the best features, minus the high school bands which are always good at reproducing popular mainstream pieces of music. I wish i could be our parade's "master of ceremonies" one year. Let me tell you one other very obvious thing in the parade it was filled with political promotions, lots of "Miss" of this or that (Miss West Virginia, ect) and no "misters" except the so called star of the show who I guess is or was the star of the reality show The Bachelor. I'm sure he got paid by somebody to be there maybe they should have used that money to offer prizes for the best entry into the parade.
i am constantly thinking about what i would do to help settle down peoples that feel the need to evoke war on others. Today, i am wondering why Americans subject themselves to so much sugar and now even temporary tongue tattoos geared to our youth. Maybe this little marketing ploy by the makers of "fruit rolls ups" would be something to distract soldiers from the middle east. I don't know I can't imagine soldiers of various ages putting down the weapons to show each other the temporary artwork stuck on their tongues. Might make a funny video though.
looking back i have found a series of Interesting facts: Dawn and I were married in maybe the most famous Orthodox church in America (not counting the one at Ground Zero) made famous by a movie about war, The Deer Hunter. I was baptised by the most outspoken orthodox american priest who writes about "righteous war" and he was present at " the flowering of a dream - 2000" the community art project created by my wife and I, the Transcendental Arts Council and many others in Leesburg, VA to welcome in the new millennium. Also, I own the largest collection of war related art by the 3rd great grandson of maybe the most controversial, and loathed of civil war generals and whose family members have faught in every american war but who himself chose the artistic path. I also have the largest collection of photography that captured american artists and individuals in every day situations wearing gas masks. I am an 11th generation artisan with.an unusual "visionary" view of how art and artists could be used to help transform societies especially during times of war.
