I remember going to parades as a child with my parents in Bridgewater Virginia. Bridgewater is pretty small town but for some reason there seemed to be more creativity displayed in that county parade than any i have seen as a parent and a citizen of Martinsburg Wv. Today was probably the 3rd or 4th Apple Harvest parade that i have taken my kids to and have been disappointed by. Besides the dance troups and bands the most creative entry this year was at the very end which i forced myself to stay for, just hoping for one creative and beautiful float or something, anything, that would be interesting to look at. The "caboose" for this lame train was a fishing boat advertising one public servant's task of fighting crime. I have a series of photos highlighting the best features, minus the high school bands which are always good at reproducing popular mainstream pieces of music. I wish i could be our parade's "master of ceremonies" one year.
