TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND TO THOSE WHO CAMPAIGNED, OR WHO ARE CURRENTLY CAMPAIGNING FOR THE POSITION OF PRESIDENT
It is obvious that America continues to search for a leader to solve the country’s problems and to lead the American people during these times of civil unrest. The problem is that this civil unrest is not only in this country, the soup is bubbling all over the world, and we have much to consider when choosing someone to act as our President.
First, I would like to thank all of the individuals who placed their lives on hold in order to run campaigns for this important government position. I know that it must have been a lot of hard work and certainly painful at times, campaigning to the American people. I think I can speak for the American people when I say thank you for laying yourself out for our scrutiny and sometimes cruelty. We know that we can be hard on those wanting such a high position in government. We expect our leaders to be leaders and not just act the part. You must be strong willed, have a strong backbone, and have a great vision for the country.
With that said, I do not think that either candidate has a great vision for the country nor do I think that they have what is ultimately needed to be President – Great Integrity. Therefore, it is my firm belief that in November we should not vote on a new President, but should, if anything, vote to keep President Obama, or whatever his name is, and Vice-President Biden in place until a better set of candidates presents themselves or can be found. Yes, there is Amendment 22 that limits the term that a President can serve in office, however, as with any Amendment, we have the power to retract the Amendment, and I think we should do so, at least temporarily. There is a saying that seems to fit so well with the present state we find ourselves in and that is having to vote on either of the “lesser of two evils.” Either way, evil is still evil, and yes I believe there is evil in the world and men and women are susceptible to it.
“Choice,” “The right to choose” are two phrases that I am sure every voting adult has heard over and over again and I want to borrow them from their current usage. I am happy to have to right to make a choice, and to have “The right to choose” in the election process HOWEVER, it is not clear that these two individuals are really worthwhile choices for our country, or the world for that matter. WE DO have to consider the world, and how our elected official will be the face of America to the world. How will our future President handle issues dealing with struggling or failing economies, especially our own country’s debts and economic woes? Then, there are the issues with terrorism of one sort or another, here and abroad. The list of issues plaguing our world is so great that I cannot take the time to list them all.
To make a “choice” for either party’s candidate is not an option for me, therefore, I will once again be “throwing away” my vote by voting for another 3rd or 4th party candidate. AND I am not looking forward to seeing who gets the final majority count. I mean no disrespect to either candidate, but I just do not see the American people at peace with being able to truly choose one or the other.
We need a candidate who can be sensitive to the plight of the American people who are struggling with finances and all that that affects-- from putting food on the table, to keeping a roof over their head to paying for schooling or even insurance. Being able to have compassion for those drowning in various addictions and being able to develop creative solutions to help them, not just stick them away in prison. This person, who wants the position of president of what was and still may be the greatest country in the world, must be sensitive to those outside the country who continue to look to the U.S. as a beacon of hope for their needs.
There have been attempts to compare these candidates to past candidates and past presidents. THERE IS NO COMPARISON, because there are so many other outside factors to consider. The biggest one being the use of media, which is the most powerful for delivering messages to the people, and it is only going to continue to grow faster and stronger. Being able to send truthful or not so truthful marketing and advertising messages utilizing current events or slandering others is easier to do than ever – with the click of the “Enter” button. Then, there is the environment that they must consider, and frankly the environment can wait for another choice to these two to stand up for its needs.
It is clear we need a President, Vice president and their chosen cabinet to be without so much controversy associated with them. So, where do we go from here?
We stay where we are.
President Obama, or whatever his name really is, should stay in office for a while longer. This is not my ultimate choice, no offense to him, but at least he is considerate, has exhibited true creativity, statesmanship and class. Not “4 More Years” but a little while longer.
THIS IS AN EMERGENCY SITUATION HERE, FOLKS!!!
To quote the band All American Rejects, “When everything is wrong move along.” I must say— Mr. Trump and Mrs. Clinton please move along, but please move along and out of the way.
These two candidates ARE NOT our last resort. We do not have to vote. The people can demand that, for once, our representatives sit down, shut up and do nothing. And, I am sorry to have to say this, but if they are the best that America has to offer to fill the role of President of our free and amazing country, then we deserve to fall by our own hands, not by outside invaders.
I was talking to someone recently about individuals who have problems that affect those around them. It is true that there is nothing anyone can do for them until they recognize for themselves that they have the problem and decide to do something about it. This is even true for our country. The people of America must recognize that we have a problem(s) and realize that these do affect even our neighboring countries. Only after we recognize our own problems, can we then begin addressing them. This is what our President needs to be able to help us do. We must look inwardly at what we can do, as a country, as a people, as a united body. In my opinion, the U.S. as an entity has taken on the role of Head for the bigger body or colony of creatures called human beings. Humanity is a colony doing something big on the earth, but it is so big that we might not be able to see it happening. However, we can sense it if we take the time to do so. What we are able to do with technology, and the types of things one can see coming down the pipeline for humanity can be looked at as beautiful and incredible, or it can be looked at as scary and horrible. All of this remains to be seen, but what we can see just from the track records of these two individuals is that they are not going to be a good thing for this country, now or ever.
Join me today, before either Donald or Hillary get into office and let’s tell them, “You’re Fired.”
