INTERNATIONAL VISION CONTINUED - International Art Projects - somewhat in the works

Australia - Documentary about a family of Native Australians and Australian Energy

Artist and Art Collector, David F. Heatwole has a goal of getting to Australia for a number of reasons.  One is to meet artist family members of the Petyarre and Numina families.  These are native Australians, or Aborigines, who have passed down from generation to generation an art style that has to do with energy, life, journey, and birth.  This family has been a major inspiration to Heatwole and his own art.  As it has also influenced artists all around the world yet there still is not much about the small family and all of it's members. Heatwole will go on a "pilgrimage" of sorts to meet the family members and to thank them for their inspiration.

While on this journey the artist, his family and staff will also visit the location of 3rd gate Master Cylinder -  The Glasshouse Mountains, Maleny, Queensland Australia.

He will also visit Curtis Island LNG also in Queensland, Australia.  This is home to Bechtel's liquified natural gas complex , off the shore of Queensland, just north of the city of Gladstone.  The three huge plants will produce LNG for use by Australians and for customers in China, Korea, Japan and Malaysia.

Heatwole will also explore Australia and all of it's artistic treasures and creative talents.

David has had a difficult time finding out anything about Gina (or Jean as she is referred to in other documents)

Daughters of the above mentioned sisters form the Numina family

Heatwole has identified the following individuals (and more not pictured) who are either sisters or cousins to one another from the Petyarre sisters.

David F. Heatwole work inspired by these individuals

In 2010 after over a 1/2 year of contemplation David finally picked up the canvas, that had water lilies sketch onto it, which had been resting on the floor and got to work. In total the work from concept to completion took about a year to finish.  He sold it when it was half finished at a festival in Hedgesville WV with the understanding that he would complete it and print it.  It is a piece from his 3-D series where viewers can put on polarizing lenses and see the work come to life.  After completing the work Heatwole says that he was exhausted from working on it and just out of shear frustration for the amount of time it took to create prayed for a technique that would help him create paintings faster and cheaper making work more affordable to people in his area.  A day later he came across a piece of art by Gloria Petyarre that changed his artistic career.

Since that time Heatwole has completed over a hundred paintings using a variety of techniques he picked up by studying the work of these Native Australians.  After a year of practicing he started to get back to his own illustrative style.
